Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about our auctions.

How does the auction work?

Our auctions follow the model of an auction house and are easy to use. Register on our site to take part. After registering, you can bid on the koi that are available. The auction ends at a set time. If a bid is placed within the last 2 minutes, the auction is extended by a further 2 minutes – repeatedly, until no new bids come in. The highest bidder at that point wins.

How does automatic bidding work?

You can either raise the current bid by the minimum increment, or enter a maximum bid that you are willing to spend on a koi.
The system then automatically bids the smallest possible higher amount on your behalf, so that you stay ahead of the other bidders. As soon as your limit has been outbid, you are notified and the system stops bidding for you. You can then enter a new maximum bid.

Can I change my bids?

In our auctions you can raise your bid until the auction ends. A bid cannot be deleted. If you have made a typing mistake, please contact us.

What are the payment options?

Payment can be made either by bank transfer or in cash and is due on receipt of the invoice.
Please note that payment by PayPal is unfortunately not possible for live animals.

How are the koi shipped?

Our koi are packed securely and prepared for shipping. We use dedicated shipping methods to make sure the fish stay safe and healthy in transit.

What are the shipping costs and how do you ship?

We ship our koi expertly, in packaging made specifically for live fish. Depending on the size and number of fish you can choose between the proven live-animal service from GO! Express and our new, lower-cost shipping option with UPS .

Germany:

Shipping with GO! Express

• 55,00 € für 1 Koi bis 39 cm
• 89,00 € für 2–4 Tosai zusammen oder 1 Koi bis 70 cm
• 125,00 € für 1 Koi von 71 bis 80 cm
• Koi ab 81 cm: Shipping costs on request

Delivery takes place Tuesday to Friday until 12:00.

For a surcharge of 17,50 € GO! Express additionally offers one of the following options:

• Delivery within a two-hour window
• Saturday delivery

New: shipping with UPS

• 35,00 € für 1 Koi bis 39 cm
• 65,00 € für 2–4 Tosai zusammen oder 1 Koi bis 55 cm

Der Versand mit UPS ist für Koi bis 55 cm vorgesehen. Bei größeren Koi wird die Box zu schwer und UPS erhebt einen deutlichen Zuschlag. Daher empfehlen wir bei größeren Koi  den speziell auf Tiertransporte ausgerichteten Versand mit GO! Express.

Delivery by UPS takes place exclusively Tuesday to Thursday, mornings until 12:00.

To keep transport safe and predictable, we need at least one full working day as a buffer after delivery before a Saturday or a public holiday. If the Thursday is a public holiday, for example, UPS delivery can only take place on the Tuesday.

The exact shipping date is always agreed with you. Please make sure someone is present on the agreed delivery day to receive the fish.

If you have the possibility to travel across the German border and pick up your koi at a station of GO! Express & Logistics, please do so – German shipping costs will apply (via GO)!

How do I register?

Registering is straightforward. Go to our website and click on “My account”. Follow the instructions under “Register” and enter your details to create an account.

What happens after the auction?

After the auction we inform the highest bidder by e-mail and send the invoice. You will also receive all the details about payment and about shipping or collection.

Can I win more than one koi?

Yes, you can win several koi during one auction. Just keep an eye on the details of each koi and on the bidding times.

Are the koi of high quality?

We carry koi in different quality grades. Not every fish is of Tategoi quality.
95% of our koi come from the Dainichi Koi Farm in Japan, which is internationally known for its outstanding breeding and husbandry standards.

Is there a right of return?

Yes. You can withdraw from your order within 14 days of the contract being concluded, as long as the koi has not yet been shipped.

Once the koi has been shipped, withdrawal or return is excluded.
For reasons of animal-disease control and animal welfare, live animals that have already been shipped cannot be taken back.

If you withdraw in good time before shipping, we will refund any payments already made in full.
